Status Update on AlSol from Kiva Staff on August 5th, 2009: AlSol ‘s partnership with Kiva was closed in August 2009 without prejudice after one year of inactivity. AlSol determined that it was better served providing loans to its entrepreneurs through funding sources other than Kiva.

Founded in 1998, AlSol is a Grameen affiliate serving over 12,000 borrowers in the rural state of Chiapas, Mexico. Since its inception, AlSol has experienced rapid growth, and is quickly taking its place as one of the premier microfinance organizations in the country's southern region.

AlSol operates with the mission of providing integrated financial and non-financial services to the poor of rural Mexico. By providing each woman that enters the program with the services, training and education they need to improve their lives, AlSol works to raise living standards and promote economic and social development across Chiapas.
